Elaine A. Andersen

ELAINE ADELINE ANDERSEN, age 93 of Waseca died on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.

Born on December 31, 1922 in Le Sueur County, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Albert and Rose (Michael) Oelke.  She was baptized on February 18, 1923 and confirmed April 5, 1936 at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church.   She attended school at St. Peter’s Parochial School and in rural Le Sueur County.  Elaine married Wenzel Andersen on December 26, 1948 at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church.  They lived for many years in the Clarkfield area where she worked as a homemaker.  Elaine enjoyed cooking, crocheting and crafts.   She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clarkfield and currently was a member of St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son, Robert (Marie) Andersen of Waseca; two grandchildren; and one great grandson.  She is also survived by one niece, Marilyn (LeRoy) McCollum of Cleveland.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2010; and one sister, Marvel (Harold) Schmidtke.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church in Le Sueur County with Rev. Russ Grabau officiating.  Burial will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church Access Fund.
