Burton D. Anderson

BURTON DUANE ANDERSON, age 91 of Waseca, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Born on November 25, 1924 in Waseca, he was the son of Jalmer and Agnes (Olson) Anderson. He was baptized into the Christian faith on May 26, 1925 at First English Lutheran Church and confirmed on May 14, 1939 from Grace Lutheran Church. He graduated from Waseca High School in 1942. On May 19, 1946 he married Helen Hall in Kasson.

Burt started his, over 40 year, career at the Fairmont Canning Company, which later became Kraft/General Foods in Waseca. He worked his way through many positions, ending his career in 1987 as the Cold Storage Warehouse and Transportation Manager.

Burt served his community and his church in many capacities. He was on the local draft board, Grace Lutheran Church council, several church boards, Senior Citizen board, Lions Club and Elks Club and RSVP. He was instrumental in the founding of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Burt enjoyed fishing, playing cards, spending time with family and friends and kind-heartedly teasing his coffee buddies during the week.

He is survived by his wife, Helen of Waseca; daughter, Barb (George) Klosinski of Northfield; sons, Don (Cindy) Anderson of Boise, ID; Steve (Jean) Anderson of Waseca; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mark, three sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Christ The King Lutheran Church (309 6th St., N.E.) in Waseca with Pastor Cary Larson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.  dennisfuneralhomes.com

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Christ the King Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
