Deloris M. Asmus

DELORIS MAY (PERSONS) ASMUS, age 84 of Waseca died on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Colony Court Memory Care in Waseca.

Born on September 17, 1931 in Pipestone, Minnesota she was the daughter of Chester and Alice (Hofelman) Bauer.  She graduated from Bertha High School in 1949.  She married Robert Persons September 10, 1949.  After moving to Waseca, Deloris worked a few years at the Waseca Savings & Loan and then worked many years in the Waseca County License Bureau. Following the death of her first husband, Deloris married Donald Asmus July 2, 1971 at St. Paul Lutheran in Waseca.  Her interests included Bible Study, crocheting, crafts, playing cards and watching the Minnesota Twins.  She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women ladies circle and active with the prayer chain.  In addition, Deloris and Don organized the local MADD Chapter and she also volunteered with the local Hospice. 

Deloris is survived by one daughter, Peggy (Ralph) Deno of Waseca; one grandson, Robert (Jessica) Deno of Waseca; two great grandchildren, Bryanne and Adam Deno; and one step great grandchild, Kyle Quiram; two sisters, Elaine Aune of Brainerd and Alice Iverson of Clear Lake, WI; sisters-in-law, Lillian Nolte of Auburn, IA, Harriet Bauer of Wadena and Carol Persons of Lakeville, as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one son-Robert Thomas Persons and one grandson-Adam Donald Deno and two brothers-Daryl and Wesley Bauer.
