Eugene Bartelt
EUGENE FRANCIS BARTELT, age 81 of Waterville died on Saturday, December 7, 2019 peacefully at home.
Born on November 20, 1938 in Waterville, Minnesota, he was the son of Arthur and Mary (Gregor) Bartelt. He attended Waterville-Elysian High School and later married Nancy Radloff on September 3, 1960 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-German Lake.
Gene worked various construction jobs until joining Hubbard Milling Company in 1968 where he worked over 30 years running machinery and working in maintenance. He enjoyed snowmobiling, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Gene was also one of the longest time residents in the summers at Sakatah Trail campground. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church German Lake.
Gene is survived by five sons-Gerald (Kathy) Bartelt of Waterville, Douglas (Christine) Bartelt of Waseca, Todd (Ann Thom) Bartelt of Kenyon, Michael (Gayla) Bartelt of Kilkenny and John (Sheila) Bartelt of Waterville; eleven grandchildren-Brittani (Josh) Barnett and Andy Bartelt, Megan (Cody) Yule, Brooke (Alex) Cooper and Paige Bartelt, Tilly, Sadie and Jack Bartelt, Mikayla and Miranda Bartelt, and Seanna Bartelt; two great grandchildren, Teagan Cooper and Brayden Yule; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife (2006) and two brothers, Greg and Marvin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-German Lake with visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of the service
at the church. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. |
