Harriet Bartosch

HARRIET JANE BARTOSCH, age 87 of Medford, formerly of Waseca died on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

Born on January 5, 1926 in Waseca, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Theodore and Blanche (Brisbane) Bilben.  She attended Waseca High School and married Arlen Bartosch on May 1, 1943 in Le Center.  Together they lived and farmed in Deerfield Township, Steele County, Minnesota.  Harriet also worked for many years at the E. F. Johnson Co. in Waseca and the Waseca Medical Center.  She and Arlen wintered in Texas for many years.  After Arlen’s death, Harriet learned to dance in Texas on the arm of her good friend Ray Waugh of Illinois.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca and was a Lady Trainmen.    

Harriet is survived by three sons, Richard (Brenda) Bartosch and Gary (Cheryl) Bartosch all of Medford, and Bradley Bartosch of St. Peter;  five grandsons, Mike Bartosch, Mark (Jennifer) Bartosch, Todd Bartosch, Jeff (Beth) Bartosch, and Phillip Bartosch;  nine great grandchildren, Vanessa (Josh) Bartosch, Matthew, Zachary, Derek, Dillon, Andrew, Aysha, Olivia, and Phillip Jr.; and one great great grandson, Myles.  She is also survived by one brother, Warren (Adelayde) Bilben of International Falls, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter-Nancy Bartosch, one brother-Stanley Bilben, two sisters-Marion Heagerty and Dorothy Forbes.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 4:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. David Baumgarn officiating.  Interment will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.
