Irving William Bickell

IRVING WILLIAM BICKELL, age 86 of Waseca died on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Colony Court Memory Care Suites in Waseca.

Born on January 29, 1927 in Cordova Township, Le Sueur County, Minnesota, he was the son of Byron and Mabel (Elliott) Bickell.  He married Eileen Bartelt on April 14, 1945 in Le Sueur County.  Irv worked as a mechanic at Lewer Auto for over 40 years.  He was a former member of the EUB Church in Waseca and was a 55 year member of the Waseca American Legion.

He is survived by three sons, Dennis (Eva) Bickell of Waseca, Larry (Carol) Bickell of Sartell, and Steve (Yvonne) Bickell of Hayes, VA; six grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.  He is also survived by four sisters, Betty Kulas of Owatonna, Edith (Bill) Osborn of Winnebago, Violet Yerhot of Waseca, and Bonnie (Jerry) Lieberg of Brooklyn Center; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Bartelt of Waseca and numerous nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Walter Bickell; sisters, Mary Caswell and Virginia McColley; brothers-in-law, Dwayne Caswell, David McColley, Ben Yerhot, Elmer Kulas, Charles Bartelt, and Russ O’Malley; and sister-in-law, Betty O’Malley.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca with Rev. David Baumgarn officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
