Robert Blowers

ROBERT EVERT BLOWERS, age 71 of Waseca, died on Sunday, February 28, 2016, surrounded by loved ones, at his home in Waseca.

Born on December 26, 1944 in Waseca, he was the son of Robert and Elvira (Evert) Blowers.  He attended Waseca High School.  Bob married Diane Matz on September 20, 1976 at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.  Through the years, Bob farmed northeast of Waseca and was owner and operator of Bob and Ron’s Trenching, later known as Bob’s Trenching.  He enjoyed spending time with kids in his shop, traveling-which included spending time in Florida doing road construction, going to beaches, being a dad and grandpa, watching his kids and grandkids race, fishing, riding motorcycle, going to tractor shows and camping.  Most recently he was camp host at Myre-Big Island.  In addition, he was a volunteer driver with MVAC.  Bob was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Bob is survived by his wife Diane of Waseca; children, Terry Blowers of Waseca, Tim (Andie) Blowers of Amboy, Karen (Chris) Sonnek of New Richland, Tony (Sandi) Blowers of Arizona City, AZ, Kris Baumgarten of Morristown, Kevin Blowers of Waseca, Tom Blowers of West Concord, Mike (Nichole) Blowers of Waseca, Mark (Lee) Blowers of Waseca and Matt (Tina) Blowers of Waseca; thirty grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.  He is also survived by siblings, Richard (Debbie) Blowers of Motley, JoAnne Volkmann of West St. Paul, Jacki (Tim) Bouska of Le Sueur and Julie Blowers of Mankato; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mavis (David) Buker of Little Falls and Brenda (Kevin) Nommensen of St. James; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-Ronald and Raymond Blowers, nephew-Luke Blowers, father and mother-in-law, James and Joan Matz.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. Bob has chosen to donate his body to the Mayo Clinic Anatomical Bequest Program.   Interment will take place at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca at a later date.
