Ruth Bremer

RUTH HELEN BREMER, age 95 of Waterville, died on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the St. Lucas Healthcare Community in Faribault.

Born in Waseca on February 21, 1922, Ruth was the daughter of Earl and Elizabeth (Grant) McNeil.  Growing up, Ruth attended school in Waseca, and later continued her education at the Mankato Business College.  On November 20, 1940, she was married to Raymond Edwin Otto Bremer in Waseca.  After moving around for a short time they made their home in Waterville and have called this area home ever since.  Over the years she held several part-time jobs, but her primary role has always been caring for her family.  Ruth enjoyed square dancing, reading, playing solitaire, working crossword puzzles, and having coffee with friends.  She volunteered for many years with the election board and was active with the Ladies’ Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville where she was a long-time member.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Raymond Jr. (Marilyn) Bremer of Inver Grove Heights and Dennis Bremer of Waterville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles “Mike” McNeil of Waseca.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Pat Wendelschafer and Ethyl Christianson.
