Teresa Broughten-Bowe

TERESA ANN BROUGHTEN-BOWE, age 63 of Waseca died on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at her home.

Born on September 24, 1955 in Stillwater, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen (Greig) Bowe.  She attended school in Fridley before graduating from Columbia Heights High School in 1973.  Teresa married James Heaser on October 3, 1975 and they were later divorced.  She worked as an exercise instructor in the 1980’s and later did home daycare.  Teresa then worked as a CNA and most recently as a personal care attendant for Access North.  She married David Broughten on November 9, 2011 in Waseca.  She enjoyed cooking, music, reading, writing poetry and lyrics, and thrift shopping.  There are not enough adjectives to describe her clever wit and her joyful spirit.  She had a gift for bringing a smile to everyone’s face and she filled the hearts of all with delight.  Teresa was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.

She is survived by her husband, David of Waseca; children, Ericka (Jeff Heinen) Zavada of Prior Lake, Ian (Melinda) Heaser of Scandia, Brynn (Adam) Soderlind of Duluth, Seth (Christy Blake) Heaser of Richfield, and Spencer (Kristin) Broughten of Vadnais Heights; and eight grandchildren, Andrea, Nickolas, Jameson, Poppy, Samuel, Rowan, Cecilia, and Bennett.  She is also survived by siblings, Greig (Nancy) Bowe of Helena, MT, Elizabeth (Richard) Bond of Colorado Springs, CO, Robert (Jane) Bowe of Anchorage, AK, Barbara (Thomas) Parell of Conner, MT, and Daniel Bowe of Morristown; and an abundance of nieces, nephews and beloved friends.    She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Jaime Teresa Heaser Gartner.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 4-7 PM with a 7:00 PM parish prayer service and continue on Wednesday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
