Lloyd Chambers

LLOYD CHAMBERS, age 100 of Waterville, died on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Traditions of Waterville.

The youngest of five siblings, Lloyd was born on January 16, 1915 on the family farm North of Waterville, the son of Arthur & Minnie (Clemons) Chambers.  He attended school in Waterville.  Lloyd married Berness Carlson on October 27, 1934 in Nashua, IA.  His paternal grandfather, Thomas Chambers, came to Waterville from England in 1867.  Lloyd lived and farmed his entire life in the Waterville area.  He recently celebrated his 100th
birthday and was bestowed, by the City of Waterville,  the honor of declaring “January 16 Lloyd Chambers Day.”  Lloyd enjoyed fishing the local lakes, attending auctions and traveling to Texas each winter.  He was a member of North Waseca Lutheran Church in Waseca County. 

Lloyd is survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings-Evelyn Marie, Elva Pearl, Ailene Rose and Thomas Edison.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 3-5 PM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. 

Memorial services will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at North Waseca Lutheran Church with Rev. Nancy Hansen officiating.  Burial will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to North Waseca Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
