Donald Chesney

Donald Frank Chesney, 65, of Waseca passed away on January 14, 2017 at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna from recently diagnosed cancer.

Don was born October 27, 1951 in Owatonna to James and Helen (Pribyl) Chesney.  He went to school in Owatonna and then served in the military (Army) in the 1970’s.  Don and Jodi Chesney were married on March 17, 2000 in Owatonna.

Don enjoyed fishing and hunting, previously worked for the City of Owatonna, and attended the Roman Catholic Church in Owatonna.

Don is survived by his wife, Jodi of Waseca; his mother Helen Chesney of Owatonna; three children Rion (Margie) Chesney of Byron; Derek (Wendy) Chesney of Hammond, and Lora (Matt Tupa) Roos of Owatonna; two stepchildren James (Elizabeth) Sperle and Jennifer (Keith) Cheney, both of Waseca.  He has seven grandchildren and step grandchildren.  Don is also survived by four siblings David (Denette) Chesney, Bill (Mary) Chesney, Mary (Ken) Schaefer, and Kevin Chesney.  His father, James, preceded him in death. 

Visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.   Burial of ashes will be done at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
