Robert Dusbabek

ROBERT CHARLES DUSBABEK, age 91 of Waterville died on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Traditions of Waterville.

Born on March 16, 1924 in Easton, Minnesota, he was the son of Frank and Clara (Madson) Dusbabek.  He attended Waterville High School and served in the US Navy in the South Pacific at the Island of Tarawa from 1943-45.   Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Waterville where he worked with his dad, Frank, at Dusbabek’s Market.  He married Mary Ann Stucky on August 15, 1948 in Waterville.   Upon Frank’s death, he continued to operate the store with Mary Ann’s help. They retired and sold the store in 1984.  Bob & Mary Ann enjoyed their home on Lake Tetonka until 2014 when they moved to Traditions.  He enjoyed boating, fishing, wood working, stained glass art, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Bob also enjoyed coffee with his buddies at Phil Mart many mornings.  He will always be remembered for his sharp wit and sense of humor.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-German Lake.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Waterville; two children, Tom (Carol) Dusbabek of Phoenix, AZ and Sue (Bob) Gress of Emmetsburg, IA; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.  He is also survived by one sister, Nancy Minks of Burnsville.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Private funeral services are being held.  Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
