Deloris I. Evans

DELORIS IONE EVANS, age 91 of Waseca died on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Colony Court in Waseca.

Born on April 17, 1921 in Mankato, Minnesota she was the daughter of Clifford and Clara (Gunether) Spear.  She attended Cambria School District #10 before graduating from New Ulm High School in 1939.  Deloris married Richard Oswald “Ossie” Evans on October 14, 1939 in Estherville, Iowa.  They made their home in Meriden and she was employed with Jostens and Herter’s before retiring from the E.F. Johnson Co. in 1981.  Deloris enjoyed fishing, playing cards, knitting and spending time with family and friends.  She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Waseca and the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries in Waseca.

Deloris is survived by five children, Mary Lou Studnicka of Waseca, Steven (Joy) Evans of Marion, IA, Gary (Sharon) Evans of Medford, Lynda Neste of Waseca, and Vesta (Ken) Schiller of Hope; 11 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by siblings, Donna Jean Sharp of Mapleton, Henry (Judy) Spear of Taylor, MI; and Corneil (Delmar) Esepth of Erskine; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ossie; son-in-law, Joe Studnicka; granddaughter, Molly Schiller; two brothers, and two brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 4-7 PM and continue on Friday, one hour before services at the church.
