Elaine Ruth Fox

ELAINE RUTH FOX, age 92 of Waseca, died on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Koda Living Community in Owatonna.

Born on January 3, 1926 in Lester Prairie, Elaine was the daughter of Clifford and Ella (Halvorson) Beise.  She graduated from Lester Prairie High school and later from Macalester College – Miss Wood’s Kindergarten Primary Training School.  She taught in the Waseca Public Schools.  On June 28, 1947 Elaine and James Fox were married at Bergen Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie, MN.

The Fox’s lived in Waseca for 69 years of marriage until moving to Park Place in Owatonna.  Elaine was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, WELCA and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.  She was a member of the Waseca Lakeside Club, volunteered for the American Red Cross Blood Drive, and with the PTA.   Elaine enjoyed many years of summer days at the family cabin on Sugar Lake, Maple Lake, MN, and loved flying in their airplane. Meeting flying friends at destinations across the US and Canada was always her pleasure.  In recent years Elaine dealt with grace and dignity the low vision caused by macular degeneration.

Elaine is survived by her son, James (Robin) Fox of Minnetonka; two daughters, Jane (Gary) Lohmeyer of Olivia, and Karen (Thomas) Partridge of Mankato; grandchildren, Jason (Emily) Fox, Emily (Ben) Sellin, Alicia (Joe) Pavelko, David Lohmeyer, Heather (Jesse) Kemp, Amanda Partridge; and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, James; infant daughter, Kathy Lynn; one brother, Clyde (Barbara) Beise; and one sister, Janet (William) Holm. 

Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society, Park Place of Owatonna, or donor’s choice.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
