Glen R. Geyer

GLEN R. GEYER, age 90 of Waterville died on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Born on October 30, 1928 in Elysian, Minnesota, he was the son of Theodore and Agnes (Dehn) Geyer.  Glen attended school in Le Sueur County before serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953.  He married Shelby Porter on March 4, 1955.  Glen worked as a commercial fisherman for much of his life.  He also trapped muskrats, raccoon, and turtles.  Glen loved being outside and working in the garage.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, friends and family.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville and the VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby; three children, Sharon Ginter and friend, Steve Preston of Waseca, Bruce Geyer and friend Jean Penman of Waterville, and Colleen Geyer of Waseca; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.  He is also survived by siblings, Ralph (Emma) Geyer of Minneapolis, Delores Genz of Le Center, and Donald Geyer of Waterville; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Wallace, Kenneth, Ted, and Judy.
