Jack M. Hagel

JACK MICHAEL HAGEL, age 63 of Las Vegas, NV died on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, in Las Vegas, NV. 

Born on September 24, 1954 in Faribault, he was the son of Edgar and Dolores (Stiller) Hagel.  He graduated from Waterville High School and then served in the US Army from 1973 to 1976 as Specialist 4th Class stationed in Fort Ord, CA, and Fort Knox, TN in the 1st & 7 Cavalry.  He later served in Kitzingen, Germany in the 3rd Infantry as a Tank Crew Operator.  Upon the completion of his service to our country, Jack returned to Waseca to reunite with his family, friends and his love for hunting & fishing.

Jack loved the outdoors and hunted and fished as much as possible.  He also loved to cook and used his craftsmanship to build custom “jiggle sticks” and shipped them across the country.  In 2016, he moved to Las Vegas, bought a home and began a new life while maintaining longtime friendships and developing new friendships. Jack’s hobbies included hunting, fishing and enjoying spectator sports.  

Jack is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth; two brothers, Kurt (Teresa) Hagel of Laguna Niguel, CA and Tom (Linda) Hagel, Brainerd, MN; two sisters, Suzanne Starkweather, Amboy, MN and Wendy (Steven Walls) Hagel of Shingle Springs, CA. He was preceded by his parents and one sister, Nancy Luther.

A visitation to greet family will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 5-7 PM.  Interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, Minnesota.
