Dewaine "Doc" Holida

Dewaine “Doc” Gene Holida, age 60 of Waseca, died on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at his mother’s home in Waseca.

Born in Watertown, South Dakota on October 26, 1958, he was the son of Morris and Jeanette (Pomeroy) Holida.  Dewaine lived in Naples, SD until his father’s death in 1964.  At that time his family moved to Watertown, SD and then moved through several other cities before settling in Waseca.  He attended Waseca High School.  After graduation he traveled the U.S. including Texas, Washington, Oregon, and Colorado.  He came home and lived with his mother until 2015 when he moved to Frost, MN.  He later returned to Waseca.  Dewaine loved anything to do with cars – especially fast cars, and he liked assembling model cars and traveling.

Dewaine is survived by his mother, Jeanette Holida of Waseca; three siblings, Connie Engstrom of Waseca, Marty (Crystal) Holida of Faribault, and Tina (Phil) Buzzard of Waseca; aunts and uncles, Darlene Young of Watertown, SD, and Carol Elmore of Farmington; nieces and nephews, Anthony Gordan, Kristina Melsha, Jo Smith, Amanda Buzzard, Phillip Buzzard, Bethany Buhl, and Jody Buhl.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Morris Holida, and aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, with Rev. Paige Whitney officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
