Clarence D. Jones

CLARENCE DONALD JONES, age 72 of rural Janesville, died peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his home.

Born on October 31, 1944 in Thermopolis, Wyoming, he was the son of Donald and Clara (Tagley) Jones.  He attended St. Ann’s Catholic School and Le Sueur High School both in Le Sueur.  He married Joann “Jo” Hadac on October 10, 1964 in Le Center.  He worked at Kasota Stone and then Superior Concrete until his retirement.  He loved being a huge part of his grandsons and families lives and achievements.  He particularly loved the marathon board game days with his grandsons.  He was a lifelong cat lover.  Clarence loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing the Minnesota River.  He also enjoyed playing pool and was a member of the Loose Moose Gamblers pool team, puzzles, and playing cribbage with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Jo; one daughter, Jeannie (Lee) Morsching of Waterville; three grandsons, Tanner (Liz) Morsching of Waseca, Spencer Morsching and Hunter Morsching of Waterville; and half-brother, Dana Jones of Casper, WY.  He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Jones; mother and step-father, Clara and Clarence “Scotty” Robinson; and half-brother, Jack Robinson. 

Private services are being held for the family.  Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 4-7PM.
