Curtis A. Kelm

CURTIS ARTHUR KELM, age 77 of Waterville passed away, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.

He was born on February 10, 1938 in Waterville Township, Minnesota to Henry and Lillie (Krueger) Kelm. Curtis attended a one-room grade school near his farm through the eighth grade, followed by high school in Waterville. He served in the National Guard. On July 2, 1959, he married Geraline Gertrude Velzke and they were blessed with three children. Curtis and Gerry spent their lifetime together on the farm, enjoying the good times and enduring the bad. Curtis loved to work with animals and built an outstanding herd of dairy cattle, and also raised hogs and beef cattle. He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kilkenny where he was baptized, confirmed and served as elder, trustee and president. Curtis will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Curtis is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Gerry; daughter, Judy (Keith) Zesch of Bloomington; sons, James of St. Peter and Steven (Chris) of River Falls, WI; six grandchildren, Justin, Rachel, Alex, Luke, Zach and Anna; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Alvin, and his sisters, Delores Schmidtke and Ruth Seewald.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville and will continue on Wednesday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kilkenny.  Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery, North Morristown.  

Memorials may be given to Camp Omega or Minneapolis Heart Institute.
