Preston Scott Kennedy

PRESTON SCOTT KENNEDY, age 76 of Waseca, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato.

Born in Whitewright, Texas on March 20, 1939, Scott was the son of Floyd and Onie (Scott) Kennedy.  As a young man he attended Brazosport High School in Freeport, TX and Alvin Junior College in Alvin, TX before serving in the United States Army.  Scott served with the US Army 24th Division in Munich, Germany from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1964.  He was married to Gail Clark in Clute, Texas on December 5, 1962.  Scott and his wife both made careers in retail and hotel management throughout the southwest United States and on the north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota.  Although Scott was a native Texan, he had a special love for Minnesota and he and his wife moved to Waseca in 2003.  Scott enjoyed gardening, church activities, traveling on cruises, and fishing in Canada.  He was an active and loved member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Scott is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Gail of Waseca; and one son, Kevin W. Kennedy of Ft. Worth, Texas.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
