Barbara Jean Krassin

BARBARA JEAN KRASSIN, age 85 of Waseca, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

Born in Chicago on October 17, 1933, Barbara was the daughter of Christopher “Carl” and Malinda (Kugath) Gustafson.  She was born and raised in Chicago and attended school there.  She met Arvin Krassin while in the Waseca area visiting relatives, and on November 29, 1958 they were married at the Trinity Lutheran Church - Wilton.  Shortly before her wedding she was baptized into her faith in Chicago.  She farmed with her husband while also working at Preuss Bakery for several years.  She continued to work until 2015, cleaning at Trinity Lutheran Church - Wilton.  Barbara enjoyed puzzles, crafts, flower gardening, and feeding birds.  She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church - Wilton where she was active in the Ladies’ Aid.

Barbara is survived by one daughter, Kathy (David) Matz of Waseca.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Chris Krassin; two brothers, Leo and Neil Murphy; and one sister, Delores Enright.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church - Wilton in rural Waseca, with Rev. Larry Sipe officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
