Donald "Willie" Krueger

DONALD GEORGE “WILLIE” KRUEGER, age 83 of rural Waterville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 19, 2017 near his home.

Born in Elysian on August 12, 1933, Donald was the son of Harold and Esther (Quast) Krueger.  He was baptized at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church in 1933 and was later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville in 1947.  He attended Gishville country school as a boy before graduating from high school in Waterville.  On July 26, 1958, he married Marlys Wisen at the Methodist Church in Faribault.  Together they made their home north of Waterville where he continued to milk cows and farm for the rest of his life.  Don was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, caring for his grandkids, and working on the farm. 

Donald is survived by his wife, Marlys of Waterville; two sons, Rick (Marsha) Krueger of Ortonville, and Randy Krueger of Waterville; three grandchildren, Randi Jo, Ryan, and Reesie Krueger; and one sister, Eleanore Storjohann of Janesville.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents; one brother, Roland Krueger; and both of his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Wisen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville, with Rev. David Mumme officiating.  Visitation will be held for two hours before the service at the church on Tuesday.  Interment will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.  Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville is handling the arrangements.
