Floyd "Punk" LaMont Jr.

FLOYD “PUNK” LAMONT JR., age 83 of Waseca died on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.

Born on July 3, 1932 in Carlton, Minnesota, he was the son of Floyd and Clara (Schwender) LaMont Sr.   He graduated from Waseca Central in 1950 and married Patsy Russell on August 7, 1951 in Northwood, IA.   Floyd owned and operated Hwy 14 Auto Parts in Waseca with his father and later his son, Tom.   In his younger years, he drove in stock car races and demolition derbies.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the casino.  He also loved attending his grandchildren’s events and going for rides with his dog.   Floyd was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca and the Owatonna Eagles.  He was also a member of the Waseca Sportsman Club and had served on the Waseca County Planning and Zoning Committee.

He is survived by seven children, Barb (Dan) Klampe of Waseca, Tom (Francie) LaMont of Effie, Steve (Rhonda) LaMont of Waseca, Mary (Bill) Shouts of Waseca, Lori Schneidewind of Waseca, Susan Seeley of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Julie (Kevin) Sass of Waseca; his beloved dog, Max; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.   He is also survived by his brother, Gerald (Esther) LaMont of Waseca.    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Denise LaMont; one grandson, Douglas LaMont; and one sister, June Edwards.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4-8 PM and continue Tuesday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
