Francis C. Langr

FRANCIS CAPRAS LANGR, age 89 formerly of Owatonna died on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.

Born on May 26, 1930 on the family farm in Somerset Township, Steele County, he was the son of Norbert and Christine (Rysavy) Langr.  He attended school in rural Steele Center before graduating from Owatonna High School.  He went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  Following his honorable discharge, Francis returned home where he owned and operated the family farm since the age of 20.  He was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church-Litomysl.  He also served on the Somerset Township Board for many years.   Francis was a favorite uncle and friend to many.  He loved the Steele County Fair, farming, fishing, playing cards, polka music, and western books and movies.

He is survived by one sister, Margaret Knish of Morristown; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Langr of Austin, Grace Langr of Mankato and Clare Langr of Des Moines, IA; brother-in-law, Bill Tumbleson of Halstead, KS and many loved nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edmund, Jerome, Bernard and Donald; sister, Dolores; sister-in-law, Mary Frances; and brother-in-law, Jerome Knish.

Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church-Litomysl.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services at the church on Wednesday.  Burial will follow at the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
