Lorraine C. Lewer

LORRAINE C. LEWER, age 87 of New Richland, died with her family by her side on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the New Richland Care Center.

Born in Rice County on October 18, 1925, Lorraine was the daughter of Alfred and Edna (Niner) Wolf.  She was baptized in November 1925 at the North Morristown Trinity Lutheran Church, and was later confirmed in March 1940 at Trinity Lutheran in Faribault.  Lorraine attended North Morristown Country School.  Later, her family moved to Faribault where she graduated from Faribault High School.  After graduating, she worked at Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Faribault.  Lorraine married Lloyd Lewer of Otisco on May 21, 1948 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Faribault.  They then made their home in rural Otisco.  She was a homemaker that loved to cook, sew, garden, dance, and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was most recently a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Otisco.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Boyd (Pat) Lewer of New Richland, Blaine (Judy) Lewer of New Richland, Denise (Tom) Chamberlain of Brooksville, FL, Bonnie (Gary) Pfeifer of Janesville; her grandchildren, Alissa (Michael) Bowman of Geneva, Janda (Dwight) Ferguson of Rochester, Justin (Amy Jo) Lewer of Waseca, Chad Pfeifer and special friend Lindsey Bowman of Nashville, TN, Trevor Lewer and his fiancé Jordie Braget of New Richland; and two great-grandchildren, Maddie Ferguson and Evan Bowman.  She is also survived by one sister, Lois Irwin of Vancouver, WA, fives nieces and two nephews.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Lloyd; one sister, Joan Townley.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Richland with Rev. Scott Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
