Robert J. Lynch

ROBERT JAMES LYNCH, age 86 of Waseca, died on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his home in Waseca.

Born on July 29, 1929 in Rockford, Illinois, he was the son of Edwin and Leone (Armbruster) Lynch.  He grew up in New Hampton, IA.   Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1954.  He married Maxine O’Rourke on February 23, 1954 in Charles City, IA until her death in 1987.  He attended Linotype School, and became a printer by trade; managing the Printing Department at E.F. Johnson Co. for over 18 years.    Robert married Peggy Miller on July 30, 1993 in Waseca.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Waseca American Legion and VFW Clubs, in addition to participating as an Honor Guard.

Bob cherished his time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, winter Texas trips in his motorhome and reunions at the family farm.

He is survived by his children, Linda (Glenn) Nerbak of  South Portland,  ME, Debra (Jeff) Brasch of Columbia, MO, Janine (Jim) Hesch of Sauk Rapids, Michael Lynch of Waseca, Mary Jo (Dean) Fanning of Oronoco, Anne Kent of Sauk Rapids,  Sam Kent of Sauk Rapids and Susan (Jeff) Kingston of Waseca; step-children, Cindy (Mike) Bjerke of Farmington, Dan (Charlene) Miller of Lenoir City, TN, and Anne (Bob) Burford of Faribault; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 9 step-grandchildren.  He is also survived by four brothers, Don Lynch of Waseca, Jack (Sharon) Lynch of Morton, IL, Duane (Pat) Lynch of New Hampton, IA, and Richard (Ginny) Lynch of Athens, GA; one sister-in-law, Jeanette O’Rourke of Boone, IA; caring friend, Audrey Lynch of Waseca, MN and many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; brother-in-law, Harold O’Rourke; and sister-in-law, Susan Lynch.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 4-7 PM  with a 6:00 PM parish prayer service and continue on Saturday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM.    Private family burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to Sacred Heart School or Waseca County VA Transportation Services.
