Deanna Malecha

DEANNA LOUISE MALECHA, age 80 of Waseca, died on Monday, May 14, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Born in Brookings, South Dakota on March 28, 1938, she was the daughter of Elden and Linda (Hackbarth) Ruud.  She graduated from Brookings High School.  Deanna married Roman E. Malecha on March 17, 1978 at the Courthouse in Le Center.  She worked at various jobs through the years but was primarily a homemaker.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening, camping and traveling.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.

She is survived by her husband, Roman of Waseca; children, Linda (Tom) Piper of Nerstrand, Diane (Don) Flom of Faribault, Cheri (Keith) Nielsen of Lincolnton, NC, Don Bloomquist of Aitkin, Lisa (Chad) Mokoff of Waseca, Dennis (Faye) Malecha of Waseca, and Curtis (Linda) Malecha of Janesville; 12 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eldonna Stenson; grandson, Jesse; and great grandson, Mitchell.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, with Father Gregory Leif officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour before services at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
