Dolores P. Miller

DOLORES P. MILLER, age 91 of rural Waterville died on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Golden Living Center-West in Rochester.

Born on March 29, 1923 in Le Sueur County, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Charles and Irene (Leischer) Peach.  She attended school in rural Le Sueur County.   She married Leonard Maas on May 14, 1941.  They lived and farmed in Waseca County until his death on November 22, 1955.  Dolores married Andrew Miller on January 14, 1959 and they lived and farmed in Iosco Township, Waseca County.  He preceded her in death on June 25, 1988.  She continued to help her son Bruce with the farming and caring for the livestock well into her 80s.  Dolores was especially proud to have received a Sesquicentennial Farm Award from Farm Bureau in 2012.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, canning and taking care of her yard.  Dolores was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville.

She is survived by two children, Bruce (Sarah) Miller of rural Waterville and Nancy (Mark) Pittman of Waterville; and one grandson, Ryan Pittman.  She is also survived by two sisters, Bessie Zellmer and Jolene Hagel; and one brother, Donald (Florence) Peach all of Waterville; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 4-8 PM and continue on Thursday, one hour before service at the church.   There will be no viewing at the church on Thursday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville with Rev. Michael Ince officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterville.
