Lois Irene Mittelsteadt

LOIS IRENE MITTELSTEADT, age 80 of Waseca died on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Born on May 13, 1933 in Fargo, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Edward and Lucille (Holmes) Reycraft.  As a young girl, Lois lived with her family in San Francisco before moving to Waseca where she attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School.  She married Arvid G. Mittelsteadt on June 25, 1954 in Waseca.  Together they lived and farmed in rural Waseca until his death in 1970.  Lois then worked at various places in Waseca including Ben Franklin, Birds Eye, and Brown Printing before retiring from Waseca Public Schools.   She enjoyed gardening, canning, watching old movies, baking cookies and spending time with her family.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Lois is survived by four children, Richard (Gatha) Mittelsteadt, Deborah Mittelsteadt, and Steven Mittelsteadt all of Waseca, and Tony Bremer of Minneapolis.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, Tristin Mittelsteadt and Gordon Mittelsteadt.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
