Kathy Kay Morimoto

KATHY KAY MORIMOTO, age 53 of Waterville died on Friday, April 12, 2013 at her residence in Waterville.

Born on July 4, 1959 in Tomah, Wisconsin she was the daughter of Donald and Elie (Pfuhl) Buchmann.  Kathy attended John Erickson Elementary in Minneapolis, Richfield High School, and McConnell Travel School in Minneapolis.  She married Ronald Grinde in Minneapolis and they were later divorced.  She married Vincent Morimoto on September 20, 1997 at the Japanese Gardens in Bloomington.  Kathy had worked various places but she especially enjoyed her work with the disabled.  She loved decorating, crafts, jewelry and gardening.  She also loved movies, music, her dogs and all animals.

Kathy is survived by three children, Jaimie (Todd) Shandy of Billings, MT, Donald (Rachael) Grinde of Le Sueur, and Tammy (Jason) Holicky of Kilkenny; 15 grandchildren; and 1 great grandson.  She is also survived by her significant other, Keith Marsh; mother, Elie Stangler; one brother, John Buchmann and Pam Motzko; one sister, Diane Gomberg all of Waterville; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Buchmann; husband, Vince Morimoto; and step-father, Larry Stangler.

Visitation will be held at Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 4-6 PM.  Prayers and a time of sharing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:00 PM.
