Jonathon Mortensen

JONATHON MICHAEL MORTENSEN, age 17 of Waseca died on Friday, June 29, 2018 in Waseca County.

Born on January 15, 2001 in Owatonna, Minnesota, he was the son of Jeremy and Angie (Herbst) Mortensen and Jessica Landry.   Jonathon was going to be a junior at Waseca High School.   He was always cheerful and smiling.  He loved sports, especially wrestling, track and basketball.   He also loved all the MN sports teams.  Jonathon loved the weather and was a hard worker.

He is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Angie Mortensen of Waseca and Jessica Landry of Owatonna; siblings, Justin, Elizabeth, Bobby, McKenna, and Carson Mortensen of Waseca; grandparents, Lynn Mortensen of Waseca and Les Herbst of Arizona; great-grandmother, Lynor Mortensen of Owatonna; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barb Herbst and great-grandparents, Melvin Mortensen, Glen and Delerene Herbst, and Willard and Irene Street.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 4-8 PM and continue on Tuesday, one hour before services at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca with Pastor Michael Behm officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
