Marvin Merle Pederson

MARVIN “MARV” MERLE PEDERSON, age 59 of Waseca, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, January 21, 2018.

Born on February 6, 1958 in Forest City, IA, Marvin was the son of Arthur “Art” and Esther (Ekanger) Pederson.  He graduated from Kiester High School in 1976 then went on to college at Albert Lea ATVI where he studied accounting.  In 1989 he married Christy “Chris” Christopherson, and they had two boys, Joshua and Jonathan.  They later divorced.  Marv worked at various jobs during his life including Bird’s Eye, Mankato Ford, Deml Ford, AAF McQuay of Owatonna, and was currently working at MTU Onsite Energy in Mankato.  He loved biking, golfing, and fishing, but most of all he loved doing things with his boys.  Whether it be watching them golf, going to other sporting events, or just watching sports on TV, Marv was very proud of both of his boys.

Marv is survived by his children, Joshua Pederson and his special friend Michele of Waseca, and Jonathan Pederson and his special friend Mariah of Waseca; brothers Gary Pederson of Forest City, IA, Ron Pederson of Waukon, IA, Dave (Gloria) Pederson of Kiester, Duane (Jessica) Pederson of Wells, and Warren (Gloria) Pederson of Lino Lakes; and by cousins; many nephews; and one niece.  He was preceded in death by his father, Art; his mother, Esther; and one infant brother at birth.

Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
