Sandra Pittmann

SANDRA DEE PITTMANN, age 68 of Waterville, Minnesota, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato.

Born in Waseca County, Minnesota on December 15, 1944, Sandy was the daughter of Harry and Deloris (Larson) McColley.  She graduated from Waseca Central High School in 1962.  Following high school, Sandy worked at Wolfe & Habein in Waseca and then at Federated Insurance Co. in Owatonna.  She married Gary Pittmann on August 28, 1965 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville.  For about 10 years, Sandy operated a home day care business, and then worked at Waseca Mutual Insurance for 27 years, State Farm Insurance, and Kato Insurance, retiring in 2011.  Sandy’s greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren, going to their numerous sporting events, shopping for their Christmas presents and serving them dessert for breakfast.  Sandy also enjoyed traveling and went to her 50th state in 2011.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville and Catholic Aide Society.

Sandy is survived by her husband Gary of Waterville;  three children, Michelle (Mark) Barnett of Kilkenny, Brian (Kristie) Pittmann of Elysian, Kim (Cardell) Johnson of Rockford;  nine grandchildren, Tasha (Mike) Mladek, Nicole Barnett, Jessica Barnett, Danielle Barnett, Paige Pittmann, Libby Johnson, Kylie Pittmann, Maggie Johnson, Robbie Johnson;  five great grandchildren, Seth Mladek, Tyson Dubay, Avah Mladek, Rhiley Hayes, Paetyn Wallace; siblings, Wayne (Ruth) McColley of Dodge Center, Dallas (Marsha) McColley of Waseca, Rick (Carol) McColley of Waldorf; mother-in-law, Leona Pittmann of Waterville; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece, Tammy.

Visitation will be held from 1-5 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville with Rev. Michael Ince officiating.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterville.
