Shelba Jean Reineke

SHELBA JEAN REINEKE, age 74 of Morristown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, surrounded by her family.

Born in Waseca on January 6, 1944, Shelba was the daughter of Grant and Loretta (Elliott) Chadderdon.  She graduated from Waseca High School, then went on to attend Bethel College for one year and later to graduate from the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester.  On September 4, 1965 she married Melvin Reineke in Waseca.  Together they lived at the Reineke family farm in rural Morristown for 52 years.  Shelba spent five years employed at a nursing home in Faribault before beginning a 25 year career at District One Hospital in Faribault.  She enjoyed crafting, sewing, flowers, traveling, and wintering in the southeast United States.  She was a member of Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church in Owatonna.

Shelba is survived by her husband of 53 years, Melvin of Morristown; three children, Todd Robert (Laurie) Reineke of Morristown, Melinda Jean Reineke of Woodbury, and Elizabeth Ann (Matt) Barron of Morristown; three grandchildren, Mitch and Allison Reineke and Lily Barron; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Leonora Chadderdon, Nadine Chadderdon, Stan and Joan Reineke, Bev and Phil Deming, Gloria and Steve Seifert, Duane and Pam Reineke; and many nieces; nephews; and dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Sylvester and Rodney.

Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church in Owatonna, with Rev. Brian Wright officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
