Dale Roemhildt

DALE D. ROEMHILDT, age 91 of Elysian died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Central Health Care in Le Center.

Born on November 6, 1921 in Elysian Township, Le Sueur County, Minnesota he was the son of Arthur and Mary (Block) Roemhildt.  Dale attended the Roemhildt School in rural Le Sueur County.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he worked as a surgical technician while stationed in Naples, Italy.   Dale married Gladys Dehn on December 29, 1948 at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church.   Dale owned and operated Roemhildt Bros. Farm Drainage for over 40 years with his brother, Clarence "Bud" Roemhildt and nephew, Wayne Roemhildt.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and dancing.  Dale especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-German Lake, the American Legion in Elysian, and the Waterville VFW.

He is survived by three children, Charmane Zimbrich of Waseca, Renee Olson of Shoreview, and Randy and Chia Roemhildt of Elysian; nine grandchildren, Brian Zimbrich, Bradley Zimbrich, Robert Zimbrich, Stacy Zimbrich, Shane Olson, Carista Olson, Dane Roemhildt, Trey Roemhildt, and Reid Roemhildt; and many great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-German Lake.  Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church.  Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville is handling arrangements.
