Juliet Salmon

JULIET A. SALMON, age 84 of Waseca died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the New Richland Care Center.

Born on October 9, 1933 in Waseca County, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Carl and Irene (Johnson) Paulson.   She attended rural Waseca County schools before graduating from New Richland High School.  Julie married Raymond Salmon on June 10, 1953 at the Le Sueur River Lutheran Church.  She and her husband owned and operated the Sweet Shop Restaurant in New Richland for several years.  In 1969 they moved to Florida where she worked as a loan officer for over 20 years.  They moved back to Minnesota in 1991 where she worked for Budach Implement in New Richland for about ten years.  Julie enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and crossword puzzles.  She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca.

She is survived by two children, Mark (Terri) Salmon of Cape Coral, FL and Tracy Hewett of Waseca; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister, Iona (Tony) Arnfelt of Waseca; one brother, Bernard (Angie) Paulson of Mt. Vernon, IA; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Caroline (Clarence) Prehn; and two grandchildren, J.T. Hewett and Jonathan Salmon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Cary Larson officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before services at the church.  Burial will be at Le Sueur River Lutheran Cemetery.
