Patricia C. Schiefelbein

PATRICIA C. SCHIEFELBEIN, age 80 of Waseca died peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015 surrounded by her family at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Born on March 2, 1935 in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Stella (Pivinski) Wasik.   She attended Immaculate Conception grade school and graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1952.  She married John Schiefelbein on April 12, 1958 in Columbia Heights.  Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in the Kimball area before moving to Waseca in 1967 where they raised their family.   Pat loved reading, cooking and baking, going to the theater and seeing plays.   She especially loved spending time with her family, family vacations, and fishing trips up north.   She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by her husband, John of Waseca; nine children, Patty (Tom) Byron of Ellendale, John (Janine) Schiefelbein of Brighton, MI, Ed (Betty) Schiefelbein of Hastings, Paul (Lynne) Schiefelbein of Troy, MI, Mary (Troy) Wolkow of Birmingham, AL, Joe (Kelly) Schiefelbein of Lakeville, Janet (Rob) Kilbourn of Lakeville, Karen (husband Jim Zwack) Schiefelbein of Plymouth and Ann Schiefelbein of Edina; 20 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one brother, Edmund “Sonny” Wasik of Minneapolis; one sister, Claudia Wasik of Apache Junction, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jim; five siblings, Florence Hebzynski, Wally Wasik, Ralph Wasik, Stan Wasik, and Millie Betley.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 4-8PM with a 4:00 PM Catholic Daughters rosary and a 7:30 PM parish prayer service.  Visitation will continue on Saturday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Father Gregory Leif officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
