Lucile Schlueter

LUCILE SCHLUETER, age 90 of Waterville died on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.

Born on March 16, 1926 in Dakota City, Iowa, Lucile was the 10th of 12 children born to Andrew and Bertina (Torkelson) Anderson.  She attended school in Dakota City and later married Robert Schlueter.   Together they raised 8 children.   Lucile spent much of her life in Iowa and later Illinois before moving to Waterville in 1968.   She worked in the health care field for many years before retiring from the Faribault Regional Center in 1979.   Lucile enjoyed camping, gardening, reading, traveling, music and dancing, and Bible Study.   She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.  Lucile was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville and the Trinity Women’s Society.

She is survived by her children, Bill (Gerri) Schlueter of Waterville, Jane (Jeff) Thomas of Waterville, Gail (Dave) Anderson of McGregor, Ed Schlueter of Waseca, Randy (Jill) Schlueter of Waterville, Shelly (Gary) Appel of Arco, and Toni Ahlman of Morristown; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.   She is also survived by many other extended family.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Debbie Schlueter; three brothers; and eight sisters.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4-7 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville with Rev. David Mumme officiating.  Burial will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
