Karla M. Schroeder

KARLA MARIE SCHROEDER, age 68 of Waseca died on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born in Mankato on March 3, 1949, Karla was the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Powers) Kamrath.  After graduating from high school in Keister, Karla worked as a machinist for the E.F. Johnson Company in Waseca for 27 years.  Karla married Arleigh Schroeder on October 3, 1981 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Meriden.  She enjoyed reading and playing cards, and was known to be an incredibly kind, generous, and helpful person.  She was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Meriden and she enjoyed being active in church events.

Karla is survived by five siblings, Clarisse “Chris” (Ludwig) Fretham of Waseca, Leon (Mabel) Kamrath of Owatonna, Richard “Wade” Kamrath of Owatonna, Myron (Brenda) Kamrath of Faribault, and Harold (LeDene) Kamrath, Jr. of Albert Lea; nine nieces and nephews, Betty, LeAnn, Lisa, Laura, Becky, Brian, Michael, Beth, and Kari and their families; and many friends.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; her daughter, Jessica Schroeder; one brother, Dale Kamrath; and both of her parents-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Meriden, with Rev. Cheryl Indehar officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the time of the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
