Robert J. "Bob" Schuttloffel

ROBERT J. “BOB” SCHUTTLOFFEL, age 73 of Waterville, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 17, 2015.

Born in Larchwood, Iowa on May 15, 1942, Bob was the son of John and Lucille (Bartman) Schuttloffel.  He grew up on his family’s farm in Larchwood and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1960.  He went on to continue his education at St. John’s College in Collegeville.  Bob married Dee Walser on August 24, 1978.  “Grandpa Bob” loved being with his grandchildren in addition to gardening, fishing, and playing cribbage.  He had been the mayor of Glenns Beach, and was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elysian, the Airforce National Guard, and the Elysian American Legion.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dee of Waterville; five children, Joni (Grant) Bennett of Minneapolis, Gary Baumberger of Hutchinson, Warren (Tammy) Pasbrig of Minneapolis, Stephen (Tonya) Schuttloffel of Des Moines, and Brian (Cheryl) Schuttloffel of Birchwood, TN; six grandchildren, MaKenzie, Joey, Tyler, Erynn, Logan, and Malachi; one great-granddaughter, Serenidy; and six siblings, Marjorie Sebesta of Washington, Joseph (Margaret) Schuttloffel of South Dakota, Marvin (Dr. Mimi) Schuttloffel of Maryland, Darwin Schuttloffel of Iowa, Mary Schuttloffel of Minnesota, and Linde Schuttloffel of Colorado.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville, with Rev. Michael Ince officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Autism Speaks organization.
