Mayonne A. Schwartz

MAYONNE ANN SCHWARTZ, age 83 of Waterville, died at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center on Friday, February 6, 2015.

Born at her family’s home in Rice County on March 23, 1931, Mayonne was the daughter of Frank and Amelia (Kuntz) Gregor.  As a young woman she attended country school in Rice County before beginning a job at the local grocery store in Waterville.  On June 26, 1951, she was married to Vincent J. Schwartz at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville.  Together they made their lives on their farm where they raised their family.  Mayonne was an active lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville until her health required that she become a resident at the Good Samaritan Center in Waterville.  She enjoyed watching and caring for birds, flowers, gardening, knitting, and crocheting.  More than any of those, however, she loved to care for her friends, her family, and her countless pets.

Mayonne is survived by three children, Dale (Pat) Schwartz of Waterville, Diane Schwartz and her significant other David Miller of St. Louis Park; and Vincent Schwartz of Waterville; four grandchildren, Jody (Matt) Morris of Bloomington, Nick (Sam) Schwartz, Corey (Sam) Schwartz, and Alex Schwartz, all of Waterville; one daughter-in-law, Patty (Jerry) Leopold of Oklahoma; one brother, Donald (Delores) Gregor of Waterville; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Gregor of Waseca; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Inez Schwartz of Waterville; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Glenn Schwartz; and two brothers, Roland and Ernie Gregor.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville, with Rev. Michael Ince officiating.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterville.
