Eldor H. Schwarz

ELDOR H. SCHWARZ, age 84 of Waseca died on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in Waseca.

Born on December 18, 1930 in Minnesota Lake, Minnesota, he was the son of Herman and Rosine (Burmeister) Schwarz.  He attended school in Minnesota Lake and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1954.  Eldor married Rosemary Bluhm on June 15, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waldorf.  He then drove truck for a family owned grocery store in Mankato before moving to Waseca in 1964.  Eldor was the manager of the Red Owl store and following their closing was a manager at Herter’s Inc.  He later worked at Brown Printing from 1977 until retiring in 2000.   Eldor enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and gatherings with his family.  He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca and was a lifetime member of the Waseca VFW.

He is survived by four children, Tania (Allen) Mettler of Waldorf, Brent Schwarz of Atlanta, GA, Lynn (Jenese) Schwarz of Sioux Falls, SD, and Cindra (Don) Klatt of Rochelle, IL; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.   He is also survived by two sisters, Rose Schwarz of Wells and Irene (William) Fogal of Mankato; sisters-in-law, Margaret Schwarz of Waseca and Irene Bathke of Wells; and several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, and four sisters.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 2-4 PM and continue on Monday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
