Violet D. Sell

VIOLET DELORIS SELL, age 86 of Waseca, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born in St. Mary’s Township on October 4, 1930, Violet was the daughter of Fred and Clara (Forberg) Yess.  She attended Waseca Country School District 44 and Waseca Central High School.  On June 20, 1951 Violet was united in marriage to Maynard Sell at Trinity Lutheran Church – Wilton.  She taught Sunday school for many years at her home church of Wilton, and also at the Waseca EUB and Methodist Churches.  She was a Cradle Roll Superintendant for a number of years.  She taught Bible school and was an active member in the Ladies Circle groups.  She also volunteered at the Waseca Art Center and the Waseca Medical Center.  She enjoyed times with her family and friends, she loved her flowers and spent much time caring for them, and she liked baking cakes… especially for her children’s weddings.  Violet was employed at Herter’s for a number of years and at E.F. Johnson Company for 31 years as a night scheduler.

She is survived by three children, Wayne (Jodi Clayton) Sell of Waseca, Wendy (Jon Warren) Coleman of Waseca, and Wade (Kris) Sell of Chisholm; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Sell, Wayne Sell, Noelle (Joe) Bauer, Naomi (Dan) Cady, Samantha Sell, and Travis Sell; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kayne, Ethan, Zeb, and Nolan.  Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter-Wanda, four brothers-Harvey, Lawrence, Roy, and Wilbert, and six sisters, Ida, Hazel, Lois, Donna, Lorraine, and Betty. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Cary Larson officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
