Annette Thomez

ANNETTE LOUISE THOMEZ, lovingly known as “Grams”, age 83 of Waseca died on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at her home.

Born on July 14, 1936 in Waseca, Minnesota she was the daughter of Elmer and Louise (Mathies) Weckwerth.  She graduated from Waseca High School in 1954.  Annette married Tony Thomez and they were later divorced.  She was employed with the E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca for over 30 years.  In her retirement, Annette worked part time for the Waseca Public Schools.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, walking, reading, gardening, knitting, quilting, watching reality TV shows and making mocha cakes.     Annette was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca where she was active with the quilters and the Silver Sneakers.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Norm) Davis of Waseca, Judy (Curtis) Petzel of Arlington, Michael (Carmen) Thomez of Owatonna, Kathy (Dave) Diel of New Richland, Curt (Darlene) Thomez of Waterville, and Anita (Rick) Maas of Waseca; daughter-in-law, Dawn Thomez of Waseca; 16 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two more on the way.  She is also survived by one brother, John Weckwerth of Sun City West, AZ; sisters-in-law, Karen Weckwerth of Waseca and Nancy Weckwerth of Faribault; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur baby, Pinkie.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, David, Steven, and Stanley; one sister, Barbara Blowers; and beloved fur baby Diva.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 4-7 PM and continue on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
