Alma Weatherly Alma Weatherly, age 98 of Owatonna, died Monday, October 12, 2015, at Valleyview of Owatonna. Born on January 1, 1917 in Waseca County, she was the daughter of William and Helena (Frahman) Runge. She attended rural Waseca County school. Alma married Russell Weatherly October 27, 1939 at St. John Lutheran Church inWaseca. Alma worked as a homemaker. She enjoyed reading the newspaper and raising vegetable and flower gardens. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. Alma is survived by her three daughters, Audrey Groskreutz of Wells, Darlette Haaland of Dalhart, TX, and Rita (Donald) Vogt of Gilbert, AZ; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons-Curtis and Darwin, sister- Marie Weckwerth; brother-Martin Runge; and son-in-law Eugene Groskreutz. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. John Omans officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. |
