Ethel Marie Wilker

ETHEL MARIE WILKER, age 92, died on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Colony Court in Waseca.

Born in Sommerset, Minnesota on October 28, 1925, Ethel was the daughter of Anton and Anna (Pfieffer) Kubista.  She attended school in Medford, Minnesota.  On March 22, 1946, Ethel married Clifford Charles Wilker at Christ the King Church in Medford.  She worked for about 12 years at the Preuss Bakery in Waseca.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, visiting the casino, collecting red glassware, going to garage sales, and visiting at the Neighborhood Service Center.  Ethel loved living at Colony Court the past two years, playing cards with friends, and appreciated the care provided by the staff.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #228, and Waseca VFW Auxiliary Post #1642, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.

Ethel is survived by one son, Spencer (Patricia) Wilker of Faribault; three daughters, Beverly (Darrold) Gehring of Waseca, Connie (Vernon) Fette of Waseca, and Sandra (Ivan) Anderson of Janesville; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Keena of Klamath Falls, OR.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; one son in infancy, Dennis Dale Wilker; one grandson, Nathan Anderson; two sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30AM on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, with Fr. Gregory Leif officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00AM until the time of the service on Tuesday.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred they be given to Sacred Heart Church, Neighborhood Thrift Center, or donor's choice.
