Joyce A. Wobschall

JOYCE A. WOBSCHALL, age 88 of Waseca, died on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born in Valley City, North Dakota on July 27, 1929, Joyce was the adopted daughter of H.W. and Ethel Christensen.  She attended school in Waseca and graduated in the class of 1947.  On October 9, 1948 she married Donald E. Wobschall at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca.  Throughout the years she worked at Federated Insurance in Owatonna, the E.F. Johnson Company in Waseca, and Brown Printing in Waseca.  Joyce was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca, and she enjoyed quilting at church, knitting and crocheting, working puzzles, traveling, following various sporting activities, but most of all she treasured being with her family.  She also served her community as an election judge for many years.

Joyce is survived by four children, Donald (Sharon) Wobschall, Jr. of Owatonna, James (Deb) Wobschall of Waseca, Jean Anderson of Park Rapids, and Daniel (Julie) Wobschall of Orlando, FL; nine grandchildren, Sara (Gerry Smoley) Gallus, Lori Cannon, Kristen (Tim) Schammel, Mike (Ali) Wobschall, Tricia Wobschall, Danielle Wobschall, Marcus Wobschall, Jennifer Wobschall, and Ashley Wobschall; and seven great-grandchildren, Clayton Gallus, Riley Cannon, Kennedy Schammel, Presley Schammel, Ila Wobschall, and twins Leo and Lucy Wobschall.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband Donald; one brother; and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the First Congregational Church in Waseca, with Rev. Cary Larson officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
