Roger Zabel

ROGER GEORGE ZABEL, age 73 of Waseca died on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Born on January 7, 1945 in Wells, Minnesota, he was the son of Herbert and Frieda (Besser) Zabel.  He graduated from Waseca High School in 1964.  Roger married Linda Tetzloff on July 31, 1971 at North Waseca Lutheran Church.   Roger was employed at Birds Eye in Waseca for 30 years.   He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.  Roger enjoyed playing cards, music, and dancing.  He also loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Waseca; brothers, Harold Zabel of Waseca and Dewey (Kathy) Zabel of Waldorf; brothers-in-law, Mark Spalding of Cleveland, Thomas Tetzloff of Waseca, and Tim (Helen) Tetzloff of Chandler, AZ; sisters-in-law, Edie Zabel of Wells and Sandra (Daryld) Wright of Waseca; and many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Orville, Gordon, Don, and twins in infancy; sisters, Shirley Spalding, Alverna Bebler, and Marion Zabel; brothers-in-law, Roger Bebler and Kenneth Tetzloff; and sisters-in-law, Bev Zabel, Sherry Zabel, Evelyn Zabel, and Margaret Zabel.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 4-7 PM and continue on Wednesday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. John Omans officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
